Margaret Montavon- Creator & Author

Margaret Montavon is a freckle-faced actor, producer, writer, and educator who believes in harnessing the transformative power of the arts and imagination to tell meaningful stories, spark crucial dialogues, incite curiosity, and inspire creativity and positive social change. Like Ally Alien, Margaret was once new at a school, where she was nicknamed “freckle face from outer space” by her classmates. Inspired by her lifelong journey of self-acceptance, Margaret hopes the stories found within Freckle Face World will remind readers of all ages to embrace their uniqueness and youthful sense of wonder, and to practice open-mindedness toward others.

Margaret holds a BA in Theatre Performance from Marymount Manhattan College, a Master's in Education from Northeastern University, and is a graduate of the Upright Citizen's Brigade Improvisation Training Program, where she developed her love for comedy and telling stories with heart and humor. In addition to her starring turns as a dead body on CBS' Unforgettable and a victim on Law & Order: SVU, Margaret has also performed at the Arias Theatre, the 42nd Street Theatre, the Times Square Arts Center, and with the St. Jean’s Players. Margaret has taught vocal music, acting, improvisation, and dance at the Marymount School of New York, Artistree Performing Arts Center, and Encore Stage & Studio. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, AEA, The Gotham, and NYWIFT. When not dwelling in Freckle Face World, Margaret develops and executive produces multiple television series while residing in New York with her family. Collette Castleford- Illustrator

Collette Castleford is a lover of all things bright, bold, and beautiful. She credits all of her success to a love of reading from a very early age. Collette holds a Summa Cum Laude BA in Fine Arts from the University of San Francisco. Mixing watercolor, digital programs, and lots of imagination, the Freckle Face World books are Collette’s adventure into children’s book illustrations.
